Begin your trip visiting museums of archaeology and gold devices in La Paz. Later, after an interesting journey along the city of El Alto and the “Altiplano”, arrive to the town of Tiwanaku, where you will have typical food and later visit Bolivia’s most important archaeological site, where you will know the iconography, religion, art and technology of the most influential culture of the Inca empire.
You can find this Park at the feet of the highest and imposing tip of Bolivia: “Sajama”. It has natural wells of thermal and medicinal waters, forests of Keñua, a fantastic tree that grows at the greatest height of the world and panoramic views offered by lagoons and neighboring mountains. You will observe numerous birds of the andean fauna, specially the flamingo, also diverse types of andean camels. Archaeological ruins like pucara´s homes and multicolor chullpas of the Inca time are enhanced. Visit the “Sistine Chapel of the Altiplano”, in Curahuara de Carangas, outstanding by its matchless artistic and historical wealth.
Probably the park with the greatest biodiversity of the planet declared by “National Geographic” as one of the 20 places with greater tourist interest at world-wide level. This unique experience begins in the town of Rurrenabaque, in a boat trip until the Echo Shelter of the Tacana community “San Miguel”, accompanied by a local guide. From this Shelter it is possible to make long walks form 1 to 3 hours to know the matchless wealth in fauna and flora of the Madidi Park, also you can appreciate aspects of the Tacana culture and you will have the possibility to visit attractions near the shelter: natural swimming pools, the surreal “Path of the Canyon” and visit the nests of Parabas in Caquiawara.
It is the greatest lithium reserve in the world, 3.650 meters above sea level. In addition to the incredible experience of crossing this infinite “Sea of Salt”, see giant cactus up to 10 meters height in the Incahuasi Island, communitarian museums and shelters that surround the Salt Flat which show archaeological pre Inca pieces and hotels built with salt blocks. Visit also the Reserve of Andean Fauna: Eduardo Avaroa, semi desert volcanic earth region that has landscapes of extraordinary natural beauty like the famous “Colored Lagoons”, with 3 different species of andean flamingos. In the border with Chile you will observe rocky giant volcanic formations and wells.
During the Spanish colony, “La Compañía de Jesús” undertook the task of teaching gospel in Bolivia through missions in the regions of Chiquitos and Moxos, where the religious, civil and artistic life began mainly in San Javier, Concepción, San Ignacio, and San José. These missions are a cultural legacy of art and architecture specially shaped in their temples. Currently its attractive and wealth lies in that they are not ruins, but towns that continue living the same religion and customs as they did three centuries ago.
